PLAYER ATTACK

Ready to beat somebody up?! First you should gather a little information on your victim.

F.A.Q.'s

  • Yes, you can attack another player.
  • No you cannot take over his base.
  • If you defeat his orbital defenses, and his spacebase within 40 rounds, you will recieve 20% of his stored resources.
  • Any planet recently attacked will have a white flag next to his planet (He is still attackable, it lets everyone know he has been looted..
  • All defenses will be restored instantly after the battle.
  • Ships destroyed while defending are permanently lost.
  • Sending a fleet to an enemy will cost you 2 SP points per fleet.
  • If you dont want your ships destroyed by another player,DISBAND your fleets.
(The unfueling option has been proven false)

KNOW YOUR ENEMY:
Scanning your nearby neighbors for a victim.

-Three sizes of player planets. The larger worlds represent a possibly active player.
-White flags signify planets that have been attacked and looted by another player. The worlds can still be attacked again, its more of an fyi that the planet has already lost 20% (or more) of its resources.
-Resource planets can be conquered by a corporation; and its members will gain significant bonuses.
-The globe(s) on the map represent locations a planet could be moved to (seen when you click the green button that looks like Saturn.

Click on a few of your neighbors planets. You will see some basic information on them
-Their level
-Their status (still under protection or not)
-Their ranking compared to every other player on this server
-The level of their Spacebase, Civic Center, and the highest instance the conquered

In the case of my friend here I list his basic strength as 2/3/1. This does not tell you how beefed up his orbital defenses are, but its a good way to begin getting to know him.

You can look at ANYONES ground base. Friend or not. Click ENTER and you will see how well he has grown his base and resources.

You cannot see his space base, so the state of his ground base should clue you to if he has mega defenses or probably little to none.

SCOUTING YOUR ENEMY
Attacking a planet is different from an instance because there is NO ABORT button.
You can recall your ships at anytime until the combat begins. After that, they win or they die.

Rather than gamble and loose your awsome fleet, I suggest you build a few ships as scouts to go take a look at his base defenses. It takes minutes to move even a small distance to a neighboring planet. Its not a fast thing to attack someone.

You can watch as your ships attack an enemy. During combat is the ONLY time you can see someones Spacebase and defenses. If you do not click ENTER while your ships are attacking you will miss all the information.

Since a few scouts would probably die in seconds against a good player, I have a way to stretch the combat time to its maximum of 40 rounds.
-Build a few Battlecruisers, with only shields on them, no weapons and only one engine.
-Create a fleet and assign a commander that you dont care about (He might die a horrible death).
-To send your new fleet to spy on the enemy, click his planet and click SEND. Then choose the new fleet from the list (Check that it is fueled up). The fleet will show how long it will take to get to the enemy under its icon.

SENDING MULTIPLE FLEETS
As you can see, some fleets are faster than others, If you send multiple fleets (to attack or scout),
The fleets will arrive seperate of each other and probabably get wiped out.
BE SURE YOU HIT
SYNCHRONIZE before you send the attack. All fleets will match speed with the slowest.

Once you launched the attack, you will see a new screen showing the transit progress of your fleet(s).
You can hit the RECALL button at any time up until combat begins.

The time it takes is the TRANSMIT time of your slowest ship, times the number of steps between you and them
(A step is a location a planet can exist at. Hit the AVAILABLE LOCATIONS button to see all the steps)

You can return to this screen at any time by going to GALAXY MAP and clicking the Transit screen button.

Just before the timer reaches zero. Close this screen and wait for the attack to begin. The target planet will have Crossed Swords next to its icon.

Click on the planet and ENTER while the crossed swords are displayed.

The combat will be completely automatic, you can only watch.
You do not have to watch, if they survive, your ships will return home and you will get two emails, one about the combat and the other filled with loot you took.

-You must defeat EVERYTHING including the base itself within 40 rounds to get any loot.

FLEET ORDERS
You can modify your fleets before you send them and set them to attack base defenses before enemy ships (If you think thats wise) . It's an option so I mention it here.

If your ships have planetary weapons on them you will damage the defensive structures at a much faster rate.

WHEN YOUR SHIPS RETURN TO YOU,
THEY WILL BE HIDING IN THE CORNERS OF YOUR SPACEBASE.
